Teaching Activities For High Achiever Students

TOPICS : VOLUME OF LIQUID
Time : 1 hour
Year : 2 Dedikasi

A. Objectives
At the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to:
i.Reading and writing the volume of liquid.
ii. To measure volume of liquid.

B. Methods
Contextual learning, hands-on activities and minds on, ICT.

C. Teaching Materials
Notes, MS Powerpoint slide presentation, hands-on activity, video.

D. Tools
Various forms of water containers, measuring cylinder, sponges, buckets, bottles of mineral, and A4 paper.

SET INDUCTION:
1. Teacher shows some examples of liquids in containers of different sizes.
Example: shampoo, mineral water, beverage boxes, canned drinks, perfumes, lotions. Teachers asked students to state the name of the materials on display and its usefulness.

2. Pupils are divided into six groups. Each group is given a liquid container and asked to find and list the number of available information on each container of the liquid container.

3. Pupils are asked to guess the information that represents the amount of the liquid contents.

4. Teacher review student responses through questioning techniques, and introduce the lesson topic today. (Learning constructional)

STEP 1:
1. Teacher shows the two water containers, in which a graduated container and a container which does not scale.

2. Teacher call for two students, one student asked to pour a bottle of mineral water into a graduated container and pouring another bottle of mineral water in a container that does not scale.
3. Both students are asked to inform the reading of the volume of mineral water in each container.
4. Teachers review student responses and guide them to read the volume of fluid in the right way.

STEP 2:
1. Each group is given a measuring cylinder. Then they were asked to fill a water color by reading referred by teachers.

2. Each group put the results of the measurements and compare the results of teachers' curriculum. (CCTS: compare the difference)
3. Teacher asked students to express an opinion with respect to the comparison result of water level based on their observations.
4. Teacher explains the proper technique for reading the volume of liquid in a measuring cylinder using PowerPoint slides.

STEP 3:
1. Teacher led the students out of class. Pupils in each group compete to fill the bottle with water using a sponge in 2 minutes. (Kinesthetic)
2. After time expires, students measure the water into the bottle just by using a measuring cylinder.
3. Pupils read the readings on the measuring cylinder. The group showed the highest reading is considered the winner.

STEP 4:
1. Pupils are asked to write the reading volume of the liquid on the picture of liquid in the measuring cylinder in a given piece of work.

CONCLUSION:
1. Teacher show video clips related to the volume of liquid.
2. Teacher and students together to sing songs that appear.
3. Teacher discuss with students on to make teaching and learning solutions.
